The upcoming Convention and Trade Zone (CTZ) should be made an iconic structure in the country, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday.
Patnaik was taking stock of the progress of the CTZ here. The Chief Minister, attending a presentation in this regard at the State Secretariat, also said all necessary steps should be taken to complete the project on time.
Minister of Industries Debi Prasad Mishra and
top concerned officials were present.
The Idco, which is the nodal agency for setting up the CTZ, would start the tendering process for the
project soon.
The zone at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar would house an amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 7,000 along with a banquet hall for exhibitions and
meetings.
A skywalk would connect the convention centre to all the nearby hotels while emphasis would be given on landscaping and plantations. The zone would be spread across an area of nine acres.
