The Institute of Cost Accountants of India - Tax Research Department and RC’s and Chapters Coordination Committee celebrated The GST Day Week with the theme “Growing Stronger with Times - Sum and Substance of Goods and Services Tax” from July 1 to 7 through WEBINT across the country.
MP Aparajita Sarangi inaugurated inaugurated the programme through WEBINT and released the Volume 67 of the Tax Bulletin .CBIC Chairman M Ajit Kumar graced as guest of honour. Among others, ICAI president CMA Balwinder Singh, vice-president CMA Biswarup Basu, Council member and committee chairman CMA H Padmanabhan, Indirect Tax Committee chairman CMA Niranjan Mishra, Direct Tax Committee chairman Rakesh Bhalla addressed on the occasion.
Following inauguration, three panel discussions were held under the chairmanship of Dr BV Murali Krishna, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Bengaluru, Anil Kumar Gupta, Principal Additional Director General, NACIN and Kumar Vivek, Associate Vice President, GSTN.
Eminent national level panelists CMA Anil Sharma, CMA Viswanath Bhat, CMA Dr Sanjay Bhargave, CMA Amit Kumar Sarker Partner, CMA BM Gupta, CMA Shiba Prasad Padhi, CMA VS Datey, CMA Mrityunjay Acharjee, CMA Waman Parkhi and CMA Dr Gopal Krishan Raju deliberated in details on GST. Around 500 CMA members, students and stakeholders actively participated in the WEBINT.
Valedictory Session was graced by Rajya Sabha MP Ashwini Vaishnav, Principal Commissioner ( GST, Central Excise & Customs), Bengaluru Ajay Saxena, Bhubaneswar zone Chief Commissioner R Manga Babu and Commercial Taxes, Telangana Commissioner Neetu Kumari Prasad.
