The Commissionerate Police on Thursday during its investigation got information about the location of the mobile phone of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) Assistant Mines Controller Ibrahim Sharif, who has gone missing since Monday.
Twin City Police Commissioner Dr RP Sharma visited Sharif’s office and started investigation to get clue about the missing officer’s whereabouts. During investigation, the police team found that Sharif’s mobile phone was switched off in Allahabad two days back. On Tuesday, his mobile was on for two seconds, said police sources.
Though the information was not clear, the police got to know that the officer was outside Odisha.“If needed, our officers will go outside of the State to trace Sharif. We are searching for clues,” said Sharma.
Meanwhile, Sharif’s family members have written to the IBM headquarters to take appropriate steps to trace him out. “We need my son-in-law to come back alive,” said Sharif’s father-in-law Khasni Pir.
The police are investigating into the incident from different angles, including family dispute, office work burden and kidnap threat. When contacted, the Infocity police said they were trying to find out Sharif’s whereabouts. “Our investigation is on to trace him out,” said Infocity police station IIC Bijayini Singh.
