IBM may take CBI help to probe Ibrahim missing

A week has already elapsed, but the Commissionerate Police are still clueless about the missing of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) Assistant Mines Controller Ibrahim Sharif. On the other hand, the IBM may urge the Central Government to order a CBI probe into the case, sources said.

According to reliable sources, the Union Ministry of Mines had called a meeting at the IBM head office at Nagpur on Friday in the presence of Ministry officials and IBM officials of Kanpur and Bhubaneswar where they had discussed about Ibrahim’s missing. The officials had discussed about a high-level inquiry like that by the CBI to trace out the officer.

“We have informed the Ministry of Mines about Ibrahim’s case earlier. We don’t have any clue about his missing. The IBM has taken the issue seriously,” said Deputy Controller of Mines lH Chhangte.

Twin City Police Commissioner Dr RP Sharma said they are yet to get any tangible information regarding the whereabouts of the IBM officer. “We are in touch with our team which has gone to Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh after getting clue of Ibrahim’s mobile phone location. We are waiting for a clue in the case,” said Sharma.

Ibrahim, who hails from Karnataka and lives with his family at Nigam Vihar in Phase-II of Kanan Vihar in Bhubaneswar, has been untraceable after he left for his office in the morning of Monday last. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Government is in touch with its Odisha counterpart about Ibrahim’s missing, Karnataka Home Minister KJ George reportedly said on Monday.
