The Information and Public Relations Department would put up information centre and various stalls and organise cultural programmes along the Grand Road at Puri during the upcoming nine-day Rath Yatra.
The department held a preparatory meeting in this regard on Wednesday. The meeting chaired by the I and PR Secretary Hemant Sharma was attended by Director laxmidhar Mohanty, Joint Secretary Manoj Kumar Mohanty and Joint Director Niranjan Sethi, among others.
The department would up of information centers and photo exhibition, facilitate television and photo coverage of the Yatra and circulate Utkal Prasanga and Odisha Review magazines. It would hold cultural shows every evening.
The cultural events have been planned to enthrall the visitors, mostly from outside the State, by showcasing Bhajan and devotional song recitals by reputed singers from the State.
All progammes would be aimed at promoting art, heritage and culture of the State.
Besides, several programsmes would be held at the Gundicha Temple to showcase success stories of the State Government and propagate te Shree Jagannath culture.
Photo Exhibitions would be organised at 11 populated places and information Centers set up at various places for providing factual information to the visitors.
