Reacting to media reports that he misbehaved with journalists at his official chamber at the State Secretariat here, Revenue and Disaster Managed Minister Bijayashree Routray on Tuesday claimed that he was luckily saved by his official staffs when some electronic mediaperons tried to manhandle him.

In a statement, the Minister explained that some electronic mediapersons forcibly entered his chamber and insisted that he answer to their queries on Ghangapatna land issue. “When I showed my reluctance, about 20 to 25 electronic mediapersons entered forcibly into my official chamber using derogatory language. They didn’t allow me to go to toilet and even threatened me to sit in strike if I don’t respond to their questions. My PSO and other office staffs, and even Secretariat security personnel could not control them,” Routray said, blaming two reporters for the whole act. Stating that he has all respect towards the journalists and Press, he has urged the senior journalists to “prevail upon and educate” the erring reporters.
