The State-level parade for the Independence Day would now be held at the Exhibition Ground here instead of the Mahatma Gandhi Marg, informed Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, three alternative venues, Exhibition Ground, Janata Maidan and Kalinga Stadium, had been proposed for the State-level parade venue.
So far, the State-level parades for the Independence Day and the Republic Day were being held at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg.
Mohanty told reporters that four troupes, Territorial Army, Telangana Police, Central Armed Police and Odisha Special Armed Police, would participate in the parade this year.
Elaborate arrangements would be made for security and smooth management of traffic to the parade venue.
