The 73rd Independence Day celebration was held in Nabakrushna Choudhury stadium here, where Collector SK Mohapatra hoisted Tricolor and witnessed ceremonial parade.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Mohapatra focused on history of Indian freedom movement and revealed contributions of Odisha freedom fighters, mainly from Jagatsinghpur.
Among others, the Zilla Parishad president and vice president, the ADM Jagatsinghpur, the DRDA PD and Additional SP were present.

The main function was held in Nandikeswar Mahadev temple in Taradapada, where Brahamins performed mass recitation of Gita. Besides, a yajna was held. BJP leaders former MP Bibhuprasad Tarai, Pratap Mishra, Tapan Behera and many others spoke on the occasion.
