The venue for the State-level Independence Day parade in the capital is likely to be changed this year.
DGP RP Sharma along with other senior police officials on Saturday visited three alternate venues for the parade and conducted inspection.
The three alternate venues are the Exhibition Ground, the Janata Maidan and the Kalinga Stadium.
The DGP also had a discussion with other police officials on security arrangements and traffic management in accordance with the changed location.
Notably, the State-level parades for the Independence Day and the Republic Day are so far held at Gandhi Marg in front of the State Assembly every year.
Elaborate arrangements are made for security and smooth management of traffic to the parade venue.
