Smruti Ranjan Parida, a resident of Samagola village under Kujang block who had hurled eggs at Excise Minister Damodar Rout during a Jan Smpark meeting at Kujang two days ago, was arrested and forwarded to court on Friday.
The Kujang court after rejecting Parida’s bail pleas sent him to jail.
Reports said the alleged egg hurler is a mental patient and had recently been discharged from a hospital. During interrogations by police, he was frequently changing his views.
On the other hand, Kujang block BJP president Gati Krushna Satpathy alleged that Parida has been wrongly implicated in the incident.
