Hundreds of investors and agents of Saradha Group from Brahmapur, Badamba, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Monday appealed the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch for expediting an investigation into the firm’s financial fraud and help them get back their deposited money.
“Though the investors, who had deposited their money with company’s branches in Puri and Baleswar districts had already lodged written complaints with the Crime Branch, but the inquiry process is not satisfactory. Hence, we urge the agency to speed up the investigation process without further delay,” said an investor.
The company's agents also alleged that they were not being paid for last four to five months. "We do not receive our salary for last four to five months. We are being victimised. Investors are venting their ire on us as we had collected the money from them. We were just employees of Saradha Group and had no idea about its mischief. We do not know the whereabouts of our senior company officials, except two regional office addresses at Baleswar and Puri districts,” said a few agents.
Meanwhile, a senior CB official said, “We are keeping a watch on the developments and examining the complaints. Besides, we are also trying to find out the company's network in other districts."
