Those who claim Brahmapur as smart and clean city can look at these pictures, and then only one can understand the difference between the claim made by the BeMC and the ground reality.
The city significantly has twice been figured reportedly in the list of ten best medium clean cities in the country.
On a request made a by a local resident, this correspondent visited the Guala street, a 15 feet wide road (that connects to Bhapur Bazar and Vijaya Cinema Chhak) on Sunday morning and only chose to take the following two photographs that is suffice to narrate the road and sanitation of the locality.
It was noticed how the tax-paying citizens were forced to stay like animals amidst heaps of garbage and debris.
These garbage and debris are lying un-lifted by the BeMC for months which is unfortunate. The repeated demands made by the local residents remain unheeded. There is neither any accountability nor any action against the sanitation staff.
The condition is just the tip of an iceberg and speaks volumes about the conditions in most part of the city, particularly in lanes and sub-lanes of the city. Ironically, the former Corporator of the locality belongs to the ruling party and BeMC notably is currently under the rule of bureaucrats who often make tallest claims on Brahampur as clean city.
Ironically, the locality is hardly 500 meters away from BeMC office complex.
