In a significant achievement for security forces, a huge cache of explosives were recovered in a combing operation near the Gandhamardhan Hill in Bargarh district on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, District Voluntary Force (DVF) and CRPF personnel led by Bargarh district Superintendent of Police B Jugal Kishore swooped down on the spot and recovered the huge cache of explosives. A number of hand grenades, tiffin bombs, eight kg gunpowder, arrows, lED lights, Maoist literature and uniforms were seized.
“We had information that Maoists have infiltrated into the area after attack on the CRPF camp Sukma of Chhattisgarh, regular search operations were being conducted in the district to trace the ultras. Huge cache of explosives was recovered during a combing operation yesterday,” said SDPO laxminarayan Panda.
