HSC results: S'pur Govt schools fare poorly

Published on:

The results of HSC examination in Government high schools in Sambalpur Municipal Corporation area and the district as a whole have been highly discouraging this time.

“While the district was in 24th position last year, it has come down to 28th in the current year,” the BSE zonal office sources here said.

Whatever the reason may be, the result of the district has worried the educationists and the intelligentsia mass.

More surprisingly, except one, in all Government school of the town, no student has had A1 mark. However, it is only the Sasan Nodal High School that has one student with A1 mark. Further, another student of the same school is deprived of A1 by just a thread margin of two marks, school sources said.

All other old schools of the town supposed to be pride of the district also don’t have a single one in A1. Even CBS Jilla School, almost 155 old years old, has no one either in A1 or A2, BSE sources informed.

It is further learnt that total 24 students of the district have secured A1 grade out of which only six are from the Government high schools. And rest others are from Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir.

Anisha Sahu of Sasraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Dhanupali has been the district topper with 568 marks out of total 600.

“I expected more than 95 per cent. Still I am happy with 94.67 and the credit goes to my father and mother, teachers (Guruji and Gurumaa), and tuition sirs,” said Anisha. “My future plan is to become a doctor,” she added.
