A five-member team of the State Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) investigating the alleged dowry torture case against Raghunath Mohanty on Saturday interrogated Mohanty’s daughter-in-law Barshasoni Choudhury and her parents at Bhoisahi here.
Barshasoni’s family members were initially reluctant to undergo the probe, but they agreed to it subsequently.
The team led by DSP Subal Kar on Saturday recorded the statements of complainant Barshasoni, who has accused Mohanty and his family of torturing her for dowry, and her parents. “The family members of complainant Barshasoni and she herself cooperated with the team in the probe,” Kar said.
Barshasoni demanded justice and arrest of Mohanty and his family members. "Whoever wants to give me justice, I will cooperate with him. My first demand is arrest of all culprits," Barsha said.
