A day after tainted Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chief Pradip Sethy gave an interview to a certain local television channel through a mobile phone during his appearance at a trial court here, Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Satyabrata Bhoi on Tuesday ordered a probe into the episode.
Bhoi said police would investigate into the circumstances in which Sethy was talking over phone to someone when he was produced in court on Monday for his routine appearance.
He warned of investigation of the role of police officials who had escorted Sethy to the court where he also gave clarifications to the media about Minister Sanjay Dsburma’s “innocence” in the green Pajero case and also an interview to the news channel.
“Strong action would be taken against the escorting police officers for negligence in their duties. Special police officials will be engaged for high profile accused persons during their court production,” said Bhoi.
Notably, Sethy had given his comments about Minister Dasburma saying that he was innocent and had no links in the chit fund scam. Terming the Pajero row against the Minister as “the biggest joke of the year”, he said the matter was being politicised unnecessarily.
Sethy’s latest statement was at total variance with his earlier one that whatever he has told the CBI about the possession of “One Pajero with Sri Sanjay Das Burma” is true.
