An awareness workshop to train the ward members of Khariar block for better implementation of rural housing scheme was held at Khariar on Friday.The workshop was organised by the Khariar Panchayat Samiti to strengthen peoples' participation in development programmes by improving participation of ward members in planning and implementation of programmes.More than 300 ward members participated in the workshop. "Participation of ward members is needed to make the developmental schemes successful. Their role is pivotal in planning and implementation of all the programmes," said the speakers.
Chairperson of Khariar Panchayat Samiti Balakrushna Sabar assured that he would visit the Panchayats regularly to share the problems of ward members to incorporate their suggestions in the planning.
MlA Duryodhan Majhi, Santosh Mishra, Samiti Member, BDO Ramesh Kumar Jena and Niladri Meher, among others were present.
