The Odisha legislative Assembly condoled the deaths of its five former members and two security personnel on the first day of the 15th Session on Monday. It observed one-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
The former Members who were remembered include Nabin Kumar Pradhan, Narayan Sahu, Panu Chandra Nayak, Ratnamali Jema and Dharmu Gond and the security personnel were former Odisha Police constable Prakash Kumar Rout and former SPO Debendra Dharua.
While leader of the House Naveen Patnaik moved the obituary motion, Speaker P K Amat, leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh, BJP legislature Party leader Jaya Naryan Mishra and CPI leader Adikanda Sethi expressed their profound grief over their demise.
