The State Assembly on Friday mourned the demise of former Government Deputy Chief Whip Prasanna Kumar Pal, former Member Banshidhar Sahoo, former Rifle Man Champeswar Mahakud, former CRPF driver Braja Mohan Behera and former Doordarshan cameraman Achyutananda Sahu.
As the House met, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik brought an obituary reference and termed the death of former Members, security personnel and cameraman as irreparable loss to the nation, State and their respective family members.
Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra and BJP Legislature Party Leader KV Singh Deo and Speaker Pradeep Kumar Amat too condoled the deaths.
A one-minute silence was observed by Members as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
