On its opening day on Tuesday, the 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly mourned the deaths of former Ministers Bed Prakash Agarwalla and Gangadhar Pradhan, former members Dutikurshna Panda, Chandrasena Naik and Parikhita Karna, former CRPF Head Constable Prasanna Kumar Sahoo, former CRPF Constable Manoj Kumar Behera and former Rashtriya Rifles Naik Ajit Kumar Sahoo.
Putting forth Obituary references, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep condolences over deaths of the above persons. Leader of Opposition Pradip Nayak, Congress Legislature Party Leader Narasingha Mishra and CPM lone member Laxman Munda too remembered the former members of the House and hailed the contributions of the martyrs. Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro also condoled the deaths. All members observed a one-minute silence for the departed souls.
