The House Committee on Railways, which met in the Assembly premises on Thursday to discuss the Narla wagon repair factory shifting issue, could not reach any conclusion. The committee met under chairmanship of Speaker Niranjan Pujari and was attended by MlAs belonging to all political parties. Thought it discussed the issue for about an hour, no conclusion was reached. The committee would meet again on a later date, said sources.
The committee could not also discuss expansion issues, which were in its agenda, besides the Wagon Factory matter.
It was earlier decided that the committee would prepare a memorandum vis-à-vis the State’s demands and the same would be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier, members belonging to both ruling and Opposition parties had raised the issue of shifting of the Wagon Factory from Naral to Vishakhapatnam during the current Budget Session. Opposition Congress and BJP members had too stalled the House demanding a discussion on the issue. Transport Minister Ramesh Majhi, later in his reply, had stated that the House Committee would meet on the issue. Accordingly, the House Committee was formed on March 22.
