The mutilated body of Subash Dalei, a 40-year-old employee of a beach side hotel, was found lying near the Bhudan housing area near Penthakota fishermen colony on Saturday.
Police believe the deceased was attacked at night, while he was returning to his rented house in Matiapara. Both the hands of the victim were cut by sharp weapons. The sea beach police registered a case of murder and sent the body to the district headquarters hospital for postmortem. A scientific team with snuffer dog was pressed into service to probe the case.
