Hotel room refused, owner gets threat call

Refusal of a room in a hotel to a local person, who wanted to spend a night with a girl in the room, has caused sheer mental agony to the hotel owner here.

Astha Hotel proprietor Santosh Kedia received threat for life following the incident. The room seeker, who is alleged to be a member of a mafia gang, threatened to kill Kedia over phone an hour after the incident. Kedia has reported the matter to the SP and filed an FIR at the Plant Site police station on his (the SP’s) advice.

Despite the fact that the threatening call has been voice-recorded in the mobile phone and the video footage of the room booking readily available, the culprits are moving scot free. Now it is suspected that the gang is hand in glove with some corrupt police officials.

According to information, the leader of the gang is a notorious rice dealer of the city who operates from his palatial building. He is alleged to have grabbed around 50 decimals of RDA land and in his old building he has so many note counting machines that a nationalised bank would be jealous of.

The room seeker is a dal dealer and he had gone with another person to book a room for the rice dealer.

Black marketing of rice meant for BPl categories and dal being their principal business, the gang has an unethical role in fanning corruption among Government officials and the society at large, said many. Kedia had demanded that police unmask these antisocials at the earliest. He said he would move law court if police don’t nab the culprits.
