Keeping the insufficient’ flow of currency notes in view, the State Government on Saturday announced to create facilities for patients to make cashless payment at the Government medical college hospitals, Urban Health Centres and Community Health Centres (CHCs) against treatment charges across the State.

Health Department Principal Secretary Arti Ahuja has written letters to all district Collectors in this regard, according to information.

According to the decision, all the Government medical colleges and other hospitals would put in place ATM card readers with them. The patients would make payment through both debit and credit cards against fees to be incurred for their treatment.
