A poor widow and her three girl children are living outside the verandah of a person’s house as they have no house of their own in lahunipada block. She is yet to get widow pension and has been struggling to earn bread for the family.
Bini Munda (30), the widow of one Kahnu Munda of Munda Sahi in Juninani village under Purunapani panchayat of lahunipada block has nobody to extend a helping hand ever since her husband died in 2015.
She is working in different places to earn to feed her three children. When Bini goes outside for work, she leaves her children in others’ houses. Since Bini does not have a cottage to stay, she along with her children takes rest outside the verandah of of her neighbourer.
The lahunipada CHC has no information about the death of Kanhu, though already three years have passed. Due to non availability of death certificate, Bini has not yet got widow pension and a house under Indira Awas scheme.
“I will look into it and ensure that she gets necessary assistance at the earliest,” said lahunipada BDO RK Pradhan, when contacted.
