Traditional priests of the Shree Mandir here performed a ‘Homa’ to consecrate logs to be used in making of three Rathas, Nandighosh of lord Jagannath, Taladhwaj of lord Balabhadra and Debadalan of Devi Subhadra, on the auspicious occasion of the Saraswati Puja on Saturday.
The actual construction work on the timber would begin after delivery of Ajnamala, a divine go-ahead order from lord Jagannath, on the Akshaya Tritiya day.
