The headmaster in-charge of the Sasyakala Project Upper Primary School, Dayanidhi Mohanta, under lahunipada block in Bonei sub-division was suspended by the Block Education Officer (BEO) on Tuesday for allegedly engaging the school students in preparing midday meal on August 4.
As two cooks, who were engaged for preparing mid-day meal in the school, were absent on the day due to rain, Mohanta involved himself for preparing food and engaged several boys and girls students to cut vegetables and in other activities.
later, the incident was brought to the notice of BEO Alhadini Naik and again before the District Education Officer (DEO) Dhruba Charan Behera. After probing into the matter, the DEO on Monday directed the BEO to suspend the headmaster. Mohanta has been instructed to report at the block headquarters, said BEO Naik.
