The headmaster of a Government school was suspended allegedly for misbehaving and indulging in sexually provocative talks with a woman colleague in Sundargarh district.
Sources said an Assistant Teacher in Project Primary School at Gobira under Kuanrmunda block lodged a complaint with the Kuanrmunda Block Education Officer (BEO) Ajay Ekka that headmaster Surendra Rout of her school had been threatening of removing her from service and also harassing her.
She alleged that Rout was making calls over her cell phone during night and was inviting her to go with him to Kolkata, Puri and other places for a pleasure trip.
She also mentioned that the headmaster was also deliberately tampering with her attendance register.
Acting upon the complaint, BEO Ekka directed assistant BEO Mohan Kumar Bhakta to visit the school and submit a report, after conducting an inquiry into the issue. Accordingly, the ABEO conducted an inquiry and submitted a report. Based on the report of the ABEO, BEO Ekka suspended Rout on Saturday over the incident.
