A tripartite meeting on implementation status of 11th conference on mines safety under the aegis DG Mines safety for Hindalco coal and bauxite mines was held at Bhubaneswar under the chairmanship of Deputy Director General (Mines Safety) Subhro Bagchi.The objective was to provide a platform for participative discussion between DGMS, unionand management.Different topics on measures and best practices of mines safety were discussed during the meeting. Various issues including statutory manpower, vocational training centres, PME, maintenance of sub-stations, workshops, dust management, gas analysis, fire control cell, health and safety of workers etc. were discussed in detail.
Bagchi applauded the efforts of Utkal Alumina for its effort to maintain “accident-free” mines.
Utkal Alumina International Chairman SK Mishra assured that they would follow the path shown by DGMS and implement each of the suggestions that came from DGMS.
Among others, the meeting was attended by DGMS senior officials represented by Supriyo Chakraborty, Deputy Director General, Anand Agarwal, Director Electrical, PKSingh, Director Mechanical.
