The Hindalco of the Aditya Birla Group has come forward with a solution to the problems faced by residents of Hirakud own by arranging visits of specialist doctors for medical care.
The residents of the town with a population of about 45,000 had to depend on a Government hospital or visit the VSS Medical College Hospital at Burla for any specialised healthcare. Now, the Hindalco has arranged for doctors from VSS Medical College Hospital to regularly visit Hirakud. Hence, specialist doctors are now available for consultation free-of- cost, said Head of Hindalco, Hirakud, Vivek Chawla.
This not only brings healthcare to the people’s doorsteps but also endeavours to provide comprehensive primary health services to the neighbourhood communities, he said. According to Government Hospital, Hirakud, Medical Officer Dillip Kumar Purohit, the Hindalco’s healthcare programme is supplementing those run by the Government. Through this, people get medical facilities at their doorsteps and save their money and time.
Utkal Sammilani, Hirakud, president Dasarathi Dash welcomed the company’s efforts to provide the public with free medical consultation by specialist doctors and said people who could not go to Burla every time to avail such facilities benefit from this arrangement.
