Eunuchs on Wednesday observed Murgi Mata festival here at hijra basti near Vani Vihar and prayed the Goddess for peace and harmony for all in the world in the New Year.On the occasion they also expressed their deep anguish against various unparliamentarily comments on them.
“We are not living a dignified life like others. People are addressing us as Chhaka, Maichia, Hijra and Sikhandi which is deplorable,” said Madhuri Kinnar. All Odisha Eunuch Association president Pratp Sahoo and many hijras participated in the festival. On the occasion the eunuchs were also organsied a rally in the city.
