In reaction to the Chief Minister’s ‘Empty vessel sounds much’ remark against the Union Government, the BJP said the remark is baseless as the Modi Government at the Centre has provided highest amount-ever funds to Odisha during the last five years.
“When the UPA Government had provided a total of Rs 4,190 crore in five years the Modi Government has provided Rs 5,200 crore on the fifth year for development of railway sector in Odisha,” BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty said, demanding that the Chief Minister make it public whether Odisha has received at total of Rs 20,213 crore during the last five years or not.
He also wanted to know from the Chief Minister that whether the length of National Highway has not been increased during the last four years or not.
“A total of 4,639 km National Highways had been constructed in the State since Independence, but the Modi Government has sanctioned projects for construction of 5,449 km NHs during the last five years,” said Mohanty.
He too stated that the Ministry of Petroleum has alone invested over Rs 1,34,780 crore in different projects in Odisha.
