Higher Education Director Dr Nihar Ranjan Patnaik has landed in trouble with the Higher Education Department writing to the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Cuttack Secretary seeking some documents regarding his Class-X (Matric) examinations.
Sources said the date of birth of Patnaik is mentioned as 07.02.1967 in his original service book. But in his matriculation certificate, he appeared at the examination in 1971 which means that he appeared at the test at an age of mere 14 against the Government rule of 15 years. Before being appointed as the Higher Education Director, Patnaik had been working as the Council of Higher Education Chairman.
