As many as 771 people were reported as Covid-19 positive in the State on Thursday in 26 districts and the State pool, with which the total tally surged to 10,14,338.Among those infected were 117 child ren in the age group of 0 to18 years.In the last 24 hours, 65,037 samples were tested and the test positivity (TPR) was 1.18per cent.
The active cases stood at 7,042.Oof the 771 new cases, 448 were from quarantine and 323 local contacts. Khordha district reported the day’s highest 327 cases followed by Cuttack with 71, Baleswar 41, Jajpur 34, Jagatsinghpur 26, Puri 21 Mayurbhanj 19 , Angul 16, Sambalpur and Bhadrak 15 each, Kendrapada 14, Sundargarh 13, Dhenkanal 12 and Koraput, Nayagarh and Rayagada 11 each.
The districts which registered below-10 cases were Jharsuguda nine, Keonjhar and Deogarh five each, Ganjam four, Bargarh, Nabarangpur and Malkangiri three each, Balangiri two and Nuapada one.Besides, 76 cases were reported from the State pool.
Eight more patients succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours, mounting the total death toll to 8,078. Three causalities were reported from Angul, two from Khordha and one each from Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Nabarangpur. However, 694 persons recovered on the day, increasing the total recoveries to 9,99,859.
