The son-in-law of former Chief Minister and former Sundargarh MP Hemananda Biswal has filed a divorce petition in court against his wife, who was MLA candidate of Sundargarh in last election, allegedly for her illicit relation with an MLA of Sundargarh district.
Babula Dhamel, a resident of Dengibadi, Sundargarh, works in HAL, Sunabeda. Babula had married Amita Biswal, daughter Hemananda. Both have a seven-year-old daughter.
Babula in his divorce petition in Bhubaneswar family court in February 2020 has mentioned that, his wife Amita has illicit relationship with one MLA of Sundargarh district. He has also claimed that he has call record, photo as proof. He had even warned Amita to stay away from her illicit relationship but he had failed in his attempt and on January 13, 2019, Amita alongwith their daughter, had left his home and lived separately.
He also mentioned that he had tried to settle the matter with help of his father-in-law Hemananda but the latter had also not taken any steps. Significantly, Amita had contested on Congress ticket for Sundargarh MLA seat in 2019 general election but had lost.
