Even as the State Congress is going to observe a ‘Dhikkar Divas’ on June 10 to take the NDA and BJD Governments’ failures to people, former Chief Minister Hemanand Biswal on Wednesday met AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi and reportedly expressed displeasure over the State party leadership in an indication of prevalence of factionalism in the State.
He demanded respectable positions for senior leaders in the party.
“I met Rahul Gandhi at 10:45 this morning. We discussed various issues, including the steps that need to be taken to strengthen the party in the State. I requested him to call up all senior leaders and MlAs of the party for a meeting and ask them to work together so that the party can come back to power in the State,” said Biswal.
“Even though it is not very much visible, some people must have been dissatisfied. I cannot deny that there is no dissent. There are talks of AICC reshuffle. I have requested (Rahul Gandhi) to consider senior leaders for respectable positions and allow them more responsibilities,” said he.
