Union Minister of Culture Chandresh Kumari Katoch has asked the Odisha Government to extend its cooperation to the Central Government in identifying the art forms and cultures facing extinction in the State.
She said such information would enable the Centre to take necessary steps to save tribal arts and cultures from vanishing.Katoch was laying the foundation-stone of the JD Centre of Art (JDCA) here on Sunday. Governor Dr SC Jamir and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik were present on the occasion.
Dr Jamir and Patnaik praised renowned artist Jatin Das for playing a significant role in setting up of the art centre and said it would go a long way in enriching arts in the State.
