The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar on Sunday forecast rains at most places in the State and heavy to very heavy rainfalls at one or two places in north and south Odisha during next 48 hours under the influence of the low pressure area formed over northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha-Gangetic-West Bengal coast.
The forecast warned fishermen not to venture into sea. "There are also chances of surface wind speed reaching 45 km to 55 km per hour along and off the Odisha coast," said IMD Bhubaneswar Director Sarat Chandra Sahu.
