The local met centre here on Friday predicted heavy rainfall in some parts of the State in the next 24 hours under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over north-west Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood.
“Under the influence of low pressure area formed over over coastal areas of Bangladesh and neighbourhood on Thursday, rain or thundershower would occur at many places over Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places during next 24 hours,” it said. It also said gusty surface wind speed reaching 25-30 kmph may prevail along and off the Odisha coast during the period.
Fishermen were advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
