Shocked that their loving teacher was leaving their school, nearly seven students, including two girls, fell unconscious at a school here on Friday.
Sources said the incident took place at Chaudakulat based-Jagannath Vidyapitha, where headmaster Kailash Chandra Dalei was to leave the school in view of his transfer. One Debangadhar Sahu was to replace him and join the school.
When headmaster Dalei was given farewell with the newcomer Sahu joining the school, a pall of gloom descended in the school with his colleagues and students getting upset over the incident. Many students began crying as Dalei had developed an emotional bond with them because of his teaching acumen and love and affection for them. Shocked, seven students fell unconscious. They were soon rushed to a local hospital for treatment, but as the condition of two girl students of class 10th grew serious, they were rushed to the District Head Quarters Hospital for treatment. They were identified as Srikruti Panda and Suvalaxmi Samal. According to hospital sources, the students are out of danger.
