The Vigilance police on Tuesday conducted simultaneous house searches on the properties of Dillip Kumar Deb, Head Clerk in the office of Dhankauda Block Education Officer (BEO) in Sambalpur district, on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.Assets of more than Rs 85 lakh were detected.
In another operation by the Vigilance on the day, Sunil Kumar Digal, Revenue Inspector of Gudari RI Circle under Khajuripada tehsil in Kandhamal district, was caught red-handed and arrested while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 3,000 from the complainant to furnish physical verification of his land.
