The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted an interim stay on the operation of a recent State Government notification pertaining to recruitments of both teaching and nonteaching staffs in different universities of the State.
Citing violation of reservation guidelines, petitioners Dhanajay Soren and others have approached the High Court challenging the notification and a subsequent advertisement issued by the Sambalpur University.
Admitting the petition for hearing, Justice Dr BR Sarangi earlier on July 11 had ordered the Sambalpur University to carry on with the recruitment process but had restrained the university from giving appointments without the leave of the HC.
Posting the matter to be heard again on August 20, the HC on Wednesday stayed the operation of the Government notification. It also asked the Government counsel to obtain instruction and file counters before the next date of hearing.
