CUTTACK: The Friday’s scheduled issuance of notification by the Nuapada Sub-Collector for the April 3 polls to elect Councillors of the Nuapada NAC will not happen as the Orissa High Court on Thursday slapped an interim stay on the operation of a recent notification issued by the district Collector pertaining to Ward delimitation and seat reservation.
Adjudicating a petition challenging the district Collector’s notification, the High Court granted the interim stay on its operation and fixed Monday next for final hearing on the petition after issuing notice to State Election Commission (SEC) seeking a reply from him to the petition filed by one Mahesh Kumar Nial, a native of Nuapada.
