The Orissa High Court on Thursday directed the State Government to maintain status quo on its proposed decision to shift the office of Special Relief Commission (SRC) and State Port Engineering office from the city elsewhere.
Adjudicating a PIl filed in this connection, a Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Vineet Saran issued notices to the Government asking it to file a counter within two weeks, informed the petitioner’s advocate Dr Ashok Mohapatra.
Convenor of Cuttack Bachao Andolan Barada Prasanna Patnaik has filed the PIl alleging that the BJD Government has been making a sinister attempt to belittle the glory of the city by shifting important State-level offices from here to Bhubaneswar.
