The Odisha High Court on Friday completed hearing on the petition of senior IPS officer Prakash Mishra and reserved its verdict. A 1977 batch IPS officer currently working as DG of CRPF, Mishra had moved the High Court to quash the FIR registered against him by the State Vigilance last year and stop the judicial proceedings arising out of the case.
Alleging financial irregularities causing pecuniary loss to the State exchequer during Mishra’s tenure as the CMD of the Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation between 2006 and 2009, the Vigilance has booked Mishra, a former State DGP, under several Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the IPC.
