HC rejects recall petition on OCS-2011 examination

Just a day before the beginning of written test of the Odisha Civil Service (OCS) main examination, the Odisha High Court on Friday refused to interfere in it and rejected a petition that was filed on Thursday to recall the High Court’s Wednesday order.

The petition filed by one Priyambada Das and others had urged the High Court to recall its order that had allowed some unsuccessful candidates to appear at the Main examination. The petitioners had pointed out that only those candidates, who had challenged the Preliminary results, were allowed to sit for the Main examination. They said that due to a faulty system of awarding grace marks in certain subjects, many meritorious aspirants missed the mark by a whisker and they should also be allowed to appear at the main examination.

Urging the court to modify its Wednesday order, the petitioners had stated that the requisite candidates (12 times the posts advertised) have not been shortlisted to appear at the Main examination.
