Justice Bhabani Prasad Ray, a sitting judge of the Orissa High Court passed away on Thursday evening while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here. He was 61 and is survived by wife Banani Ray and two daughters. Justice Ray was ailing for past few months.
Judges of the High Court, the Advocate General, members of the bar and the Twin City Police Commissioner paid their last respect to the departed soul at his residence. Sources close to the family informed that his last rites would be performed at his native village in Jagatsinghpur district.
Justice Ray had been appointed as a HC Judge in November 2007. He was transferred to Kerala High Court in October 2010 before being shifted back to Orissa HC in March 2014.
