The Joint Action Committee of the Western Odisha lawyers’ Association on Thursday urged the State Government to submit a detailed report and proposal to the Central Government on setting up a permanent High Court Bench in western Odisha.
The JAC, at a meeting here, decided to observe Chetabani (warning) Week on the issue from January 21 to 28. This would be followed by a two-day dharna by the western Odisha lawyers in front of the State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar on January 29 and 30.
The meeting also decided to continue the agitation during the winter session of the State Assembly and close down all Government offices and court works in the western Odisha districts during the session.
