A division bench of the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court adjudicating over two PILs filed by the Bharatiya Bikash Parishad directed Secretary, Railway Board, to take necessary action concerning various demands of the Parishad.
The front demanded extension of the Rajdhani Express, Samparka Kranti Express and Lokamanya Tilak Express to Brahmapur, stoppage of Pondicherry- Howrah Express at Brahmapur and running of a new passenger train from Brahmapur to Puri up and down daily.
In another PIL, the Parishad demanded for setting up a new railway division office at Brahmapur, citing the merits of the town.
