Police sources said Havildar Behera, in an inebriated state allegedly outraged the modesty of a 13-year-old girl of Debendranayaranpur under Gupti GP, who was waiting for a bus at a Rajnagar bus stop along with her grandmother. However, the grandmother and the locals opposed the alcoholic Havildar’s move and lodged an FIR at Rajnagar PS.
“I later directed to the IIC of Rajnagar to arrest the alcoholic Havildar Behera and register a case under the POCSO Act. In a disciplinary action, the Havildar has been suspended,” said SP Dyanidhi Gocchayat.
